Kathryn "Kate" Lent Passon, 81, of East Third Street, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, in her home.

She was a lifelong Duluth resident, and graduated from Central High School. She was an employee of Twin Ports Sales and Arco Coffee. She was a lifelong member of Adas Israel Congregation and Hadassah.

She was the treasurer of Adas Israel and was a member of the American Technion Society, of which she was involved in fund raising. She was an English tutor for Russian immigrants.

Her parents were Sam and Celia Keil Lent. Her husband, Ted Passon, died in 1994.

She is survived by two sons, Steven (Michelle) Passon of White Lake Township, Mich., and Stuart (Judith) Passon of Carmel, Ind.; two sisters, Jenny Bergal of Duluth and Lilly Klasky of Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren, Jamie Passon Brooks of Northville, Mich., Stacie Lyne Passon of New York, N.Y., Jordana Passon of Seattle and Douglas Passon of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two great-granddaughters, Rachel and Anna Brooks; and many nieces and nephews. Services: Monday, 11:30 a.m. in Johnson Mortuary Chapel. Burial in Adas Israel Cemetery. Memorials would be appreciated to the American Technion Society-Passon Fund, 111 W. Washington, Suite 1220, Chicago, IL 60602.
